Course Objectives

Goal is to introduce students to the criminal justice system and how it works.

                                NaNette Sampson Instructor


Mrs. Sampson is married with children.  She has three girls from 5 to 13 years old.  Her husband, Phil, graduated from New Diana in 1991 and Mrs. Sampson graduated in 1990.  Mrs. Sampson enjoys spending time with her children and their activities have become her hobbies.  The girls are active in sports, cheerleading, and music - the guitar and piano.  When she has time for herself, Mrs. Sampson enjoys playing golf and spending time with friends.

Mrs. Sampson has had family in the Diana area since the late 1800s.  Personally, she moved here at the age of 14.  She left for a few years to get started in her career and then came back in 2001.  Speaking of her career, Mrs. Sampson graduated from Kilgore College and a double major in Political Science, and History from Stephen F. Austin State University.

Coach Sampson teaches US Government, Economics, and World Geography.

United States Government   Economics
The main goals of Government is to make sure students understand their rights and responsibilities as citizens.  Also, I like for each of my students to be able to form their own opinions.  I hope to help develop a politically minded responsible adult.   This class helps prepare students for the financial world to come.  Students may participate in a number of activities which involve keeping a checkbook to watching the Stock Market.
